Sarà Matera e il suo scenario unico al mondo, dichiarato Patrimonio dell’Unesco, ad ospitare dal 7 al 10 luglio la prima edizione dell’Audio-Visual Producers Summit.
Ad inaugurare il Summit mercoledì 7 luglio sarà, non a caso, il Forum del Cinema Lucano: questa importante occasione di dialogo è stata ideata e realizzata dalla Lucana Film Commission, per raccogliere le richieste degli operatori e mediare con le istituzioni presenti, per far fronte alle necessità delle imprese locali.
La sessione moderata dal Presidente della Lucana Film Commission Roberto Stabile vedrà la partecipazione del Sottosegretario alla Cultura Lucia Borgonzoni, del Direttore della Direzione Cinema e Audiovisivo del MiC Nicola Borrelli e del Presidente della Regione Basilicata Vito Bardi.
Un’occasione di incontro per gli operatori e un’attività satellite dell’industria cinematografica lucana con le Istituzioni nazionali e locali, con l’obiettivo di avviare un dialogo costruttivo e un confronto costante e con l’obiettivo di immaginare strategie future e soluzioni condivise ai principali problemi del settore.
La sessione partirà dall’analisi delle azioni da intraprendere, individuate durante l’iniziativa dei tavoli di co-progettazione.
Questa sessione si terrà solo in italiano.
Tutti gli eventi in programma si terranno al Mulino Alvino e saranno trasmessi in streaming sui canali Facebook e Youtube rispettivamente di APA e Lucana Film Commission.
La Capitale Europea della Cultura farà da cornice al nuovo evento di punta dell’industria audiovisiva italiana e internazionale, che per quattro giorni ospiterà da tutto il mondo Top players del settore, protagonisti di un variegato programma di keynote e panel di altissimo livello incentrati sulla realizzazione di serie e film per la TV, le piattaforme digitali e per il mercato globale della produzione scripted.
Non solo di questo, però, si parlerà a Matera, location non casuale giacché è stata scelta anche per girare film di grande successo come La Passione, Ben Hur, Wonder Woman, The Last Planet, Maria Maddalena e 007 No Time to Die. La prestigiosa collaborazione ha facilitato la partecipazione di numerose personalità dell’industria nord-americana, per discutere dell’evoluzione del settore e delle sue professioni, ed elaborare nuove strategie per il futuro.
Il primo prestigioso appuntamento del Summit (l’8 luglio) sarà la conversazione con Sandra Stern, Presidente di Lionsgate Television Group, tra le personalità di punta dell’industria audiovisiva mondiale attese a Matera. Il Summit sarà, inoltre, un’occasione fondamentale per analizzare, dopo la pandemia, i trend del mercato, cercare di determinarne gli orientamenti e fare il punto sui modi possibili di produrre e finanziare show televisivi internazionali. L’8 luglio interverranno su questo tema: Sean Furst, (Skybound Entertainment); Ted Miller, (Creative Artists Agency); Lorenzo De Maio, (De Maio Entertainment); Nancy Cotton, (EPIX); Riccardo Tozzi, (Cattleya); Luca Bernabei, (Lux Vide). Modererà Gary Lucchesi, Producer per Revelations Entertainment e Presidente emerito di PGA.
La pandemia ha registrato un drastico calo delle coproduzioni internazionali di qualità, ma, ora che la ripresa sembra vicina, il panorama si sta progressivamente riformulando. Nel panel “High-end international co-production. How soon will it return?”, il 9 luglio, ne parleranno Robert Franke, (ZDFE); Moritz Polter, (ITV, Windlight Pictures); Mario Gianani, (Wildside). A moderare la sessione, Rick Jacobs, (SkyboundGALACTIC).
Nel panel “Diverse Storytelling” (l’8 luglio) interverrà su un tema, ormai divenuto di fondamentale importanza per l’industria audiovisiva, una tra le personalità di primo piano del settore: la produttrice di Hollywood, membro di PGA e vincitrice del Golden Globe e dell’Emmy Award, Janet Yang. Con il panel “Production Goes Green!”, inoltre, interverranno il 9 luglio a Matera due delle co-fondatrici della Green Task Force di PGA, Katie Carpenter, pluripremiata produttrice di documentari specializzata in temi ambientali; e Lydia Dean Pilcher, vincitrice di due Emmy Award e nominata all’Oscar. Modererà il panel Chiara Sbarigia, Presidente di Istituto Luce Cinecittà.
Il convegno “La Direttiva Copyright. L’audiovisivo nel mondo digitale” (il 9 luglio) porrà, invece, all’attenzione dei giuristi e degli imprenditori cinematografici e televisivi presenti, la tutela dei diritti di tutte le categorie impegnate nei vari settori della produzione e della divulgazione delle opere intellettuali. A coordinare e moderare la sessione Giorgio Assumma, (Studio Legale Assumma – Scoca) e Federico M. Ferrara, (Osborne Clarke).
‘Shoot In The South!’ dominerà, infine, la giornata di chiusura del 10 luglio: durante lo showcase, le Film Commissions di Campania e Puglia, che hanno aderito all’iniziativa, avranno l’opportunità di promuovere il territorio e presentare gli incentivi e i servizi a livello regionale a sostegno della produzione per chi gira in Italia.
Matera diventerà palcoscenico di ospiti e talent di primo piano, in occasione della prestigiosa cerimonia dei Premi Maximo, (il 9 luglio). La Giuria del Premio che decreterà i vincitori delle categorie in concorso è composta da Matteo Levi, Maria Pia Calzone, Barbara Cappi e Stefano Sardo.

An opportunity of meeting for operators and a satellite activity of the cinema industry of Lucania region with national and local Institutions, with the aim of starting a constructive dialogue and a constant debate and with the aim of imagining future strategies and shared solutions to the main problems of the sector.The session will start from the analysis of the actions to be taken, identified during the initiative of the co-planning tables. This was conceived and made by the Lucana Film Commission, with a view to becoming a catalyst of the bodies of operators and a mediator with the institutions in order to involve them and support them to implement policies in line with the real needs and problems of Lucanian companies.

Sandra Stern, President of the Lionsgate Television Group, will be protagonist of a fireside chat focusing on her career and experience as a key member of the Company’s senior management team for the past 18 years. She has helped guide Lionsgate’s television business to record-breaking revenue growth during nearly every year of her tenure and has been instrumental in tripling the size of its television slate, which encompasses dozens of series on a wide array of U.S. networks and platforms. Lionsgate is coming off one of its most successful years ever in launching and renewing key series. Get ready for an exclusive discussion of the Producers Guild of America’s environmental initiatives over the past decade including GreenProductionGuide.com, a tool designed to reduce the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the film, television and streaming platform industries. The Green Production Guide, developed by PGA Green in collaboration with ten studio and streaming partners, promotes sustainable production practices, resources, carbon calculation, and messaging through climate storytelling.
